i was reving the engine up the other night and i heard a loud ping noise and it smelled like smoke. it seems to be running fine now. did something break though? ps im kinda tryin to use that as an excuse to do a 4v swap LOL

Well in that case.... Yes! I believe your motor is done for. You should def go ahead and buy the 4V motor.

Maybe PTV issue since you were reving it. Were you reving it into the high RPM's?

yea pretty high and i had just reconnected the battery too

I would say that is prob what is was then. More than likely you over revved the engine and the valve touched the piston.
I may be wrong though.

yea maybe im just looking for something to be wrong lol it seems fine now, howd you like your kenne bell 2.1L i was thinking about getting one of those if i dont do a swap. did you have to get a new hood for it?

Yes you need a new hood. That is the cause of all your problems right now is that CF hood.
