Default Gt Supercar Fuel Pump

Can i use this fuel pump with my build? its far less expensive than the aeromotive pump. Again i'll be pushing around 550hp, do have an inline pump, will have 60lb injectors.. .it also says wiring modifications will have to be done, if i can use this.. what kind of mods will have to be done?

I have to assume you are referring to the 96 Cobra. The Ford GT pump is not designed for a return style fuel system. I have made 550hp with a 255 intake and a BAP.

Are you running a BAP or t-rex?

I thought BAPs were designed for the newer 99+ returnless system..

I believe the 255 and injectors should be enough to support that. You most likely wont need a BAP or t-rex..

I would consider trying to do all the mods first. Since the SC requires a tune, every time you change something you'll need to go back to change the tune.

Personally, I installed a 255lph pump in my '01. it was the limiting factor in getting more HP from my supercharger. Basically I was maxing out the fuel pump trying to get fuel up front. He told me ways to get more fuel up there, then of course it needs a new tune...

But my set up is returnless, your car is a little different, so it could be different. There is an amazing fuel set-up on this page. I drool every time I look at it....

i've heard so many different responses, ugh, its tough to decide cause its like go the expensive route, no changing ever, but may not need it, go the cheaper route, may need to add on.

The fuel pump you want to run, 255lph is not designed for variable voltage so in turn the pump will fail after awhile if you use a boost-a-pump
As I said before at the power you are looking at you are gonna have to go with a larger setup that includes fuel line upgrades, at least 60lb injectors, and upgraded fuel rail as the 96-98 Cobra rails are not even as good as 96-98 GT rails and of course a better pump.
