Auto Trans, What's your options?
Going outside my norm here.
If someone were to convert to a Automatic Trans from a 96 T45, what are the options?
Are there conversion kits for the new S197 Autos?
What is the max RPM for the trans you suggest?
I know stock autos with a good stall can handle decent power but I'm looking other options.
I was watching speed yesterday and they mentioned steering wheel paddle shifters that I thought was pretty cool so I just started thinking about it.
(The reality is, it may never happen, I'm just curious.)

depends on what you want to do, if its a strict drag car it would be easiest to swap to a th400 for the a street/strip car or a glide for a drag only car and forget about it. you could do like you said and go with a built 4r70w with external controller (like the one thats needed also for the tci paddle shifter setup) or you could just run a manual vb and an electronic switch for od.
