Default intake spacer

My buddy has a brand new intake spacer from UPR that he's offering to me for free. It's for a 96-04 gt, and is supposed to work with a aftermarket tb/plenum. I run the Accufab 75mm combo. So my question is, is it worth putting on? Could it potentially add a couple of horsepower? Will it screw up my idle or will i need any type of retuning afterwards? I realize it's one of those mickey mouse mods (that's why i never looked into one) but since it's free i figured i'd ask you guys, and see what you thought.

If your getting it for "free" I would throw it on, every little bit helps. I'd never find myself buying one tho.

yeah people claim it adds but i highly doubt itll be noticable. And i dont think itll mess up your idle either.

Get it and put it on if it's free.

If it doesn't do anything, take it off and put it on ebay claiming a 50HP gain and sell it for 20 bucks! haha

I'll prob add a little but nothing you'd notice in the butt dyno. Those just add "volume" to your plenum to act as an after market one. So with an aftermarket on it should effectively help in some since... I say try it too and if you are not 100% completely happy remove it and ebay like mentioned above, lol

Yeah, i guess i'll grab it (why not it's free) and try it out. I guess if it screws up the idle and such, i'll just take it off. No big deal. I mean if it makes 1-2 hp with no issues, that's worth it for free right? lol.

My only thought is my 75mm combo is already a little overkill (maybe it helps more with the nitrous i don't know) with just bolt ons, and adding it may actually cost me a few hp. In all reality, i'm sure i'll never know the difference either way lol.

Might as well try it out since its free. However, be careful that it doesn't cause your plenum to hit the underside of your hood. Aftermarket plenums are already taller than stock.

Are intake spacers just used to raise your TB/Plenum so it doesn't get as warm from the engine?
