Car starts, but dies...
Ever since i blew my COP's by washing my engine and got some new ones from ebay, sometimes i will turn my car on and it will turn over, but instantly die. It never used to do this with the stock COPs, it's been just recently since having the ebay COP's in the car. This usually happens on moist, damp days. So if it rained the night before and i go to start it up the next morning after the rain, it will start but die.
Sometimes it will start, be on the verge of dying as if the engine cuts off, and than it will catch itself and fire up...
it just doesnt make sense to me.
If i want to get it running, i just start it up and keep my foot on the throttle. once it starts up and doesn't instantly die, it stays running and doesn't happen again. (It will start with my foot on the throttle, then i take foot off throttle and it idles like normal, than i'll shut it off and turn it on again but without my foot on the throttle and it starts right up)
It definitely has to do with the COP's, but are they really the problem? The car is great and performs great besides these little start up misques. It happens i'd say 50% of the time. Sometimes on dry days. All i have to do is give it some gas upon start up and im fine.
I dont want to buy new COP's again. Is this just something i have to live with or is there a fix beyond getting new COPs?
And this has only started since ive changed the COP's.. and i recently changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, and battery but those aren't the problem bc when i had my stock COP's in still, everythinhg ran fine. it was since i changed those damn plugs bc i had to wash my engine like an idiot

it may just miss fire so bad that it has not anough power to keep the motor running, you might be running on 4-5 cilynders.
may also check the IAC, it happend to my car once when i ran it without a filter
if that doesn't help then you may use it as an excuse to upgrade to MSD

what does the iac have anything to do with it?? its completely sealed. it sounds like an electrical problem. you got water somewhere where you shouldn't have when u washed your engine bay. check connectors looking for corosion. my dad did the same thing 2 yrs ago car started running like ****. found one of his cop connectors to be corroded. not sayin its ur prob but worth checking.
