Default Hey Guys need alittle help

Hey guys when I turn the wheel all the way left or right i hear a squealing the whole time the wheel is turning left or right. What could this be? and also if the parking brake line needs to be lubricated where is it located and what does it look like? Its also making a noise.....i think.

squealing like sounds that some brakes make? If so, your pads are probably eroded a little bit, or your balljoints might be going.

Is the squealing noise coming from under the hood, like a belt slipping? Or from near the wheels? If it's by the wheels, might be a balljoint like the post above suggests. If it's under the hood, have somebody turn the wheels while you watch the power steering pulley, see if it's trying to lock up. Also, does the sound happen only when the car is parked or moving slowly, or at any speed?

My car makes that noise too when i turn the wheel all the way to the left or right. I always thought it was the power steering pump?

It is the power steering pump working at the max output. Fords, Chevy's, Mopars, and even imports do it. Check the fluid, it may be low, if not the pump is showing its age, but its normal and nothing to worry about.

The parking brake looks like a cable. Follow it from the rear calipers and use some wd40 where the cable is exposed.

i would not say that it is normal. not a single one of my mustangs has made the sounds the OP is describing. not even after 150k miles. i would flush the power steering fluid and go from there.

Thats the key, full lock, all the older vehicles Ive owned regardless of make/model do it. Alot of never vehicles Ive worked on do it too, at full lock.

I squeal around town all the time, hence the need for new tires....
