Default exploder/mountaineer swap?

i see that the explorers and mountaineers of the 03-05 vintage have aluminum 4.6's... is this a good swap to do if im planning on just doing bolt ons? or will this swap work at all? im guessing its gotta be a pretty direct bolt in, but i cant come up with anything in the search.. not lookin to make 6,000,000 hp. just want a decent running car. thanks guys!

??? whats wrong with ur motor?
And to help, the block will be the same. however im sure the top end(heads, intake, ect) are different.
It would prob be easier to just pick up a 4.6 from a mustang out of a junk yard.

oh she has seen better days haha. i have 4.10s in it and other small random stuff, and my stock 98 gt with 2.73's keep right next to me. it burns oil like crazy and you can just tell the thing is on its last leg with 140k. im not nice to this motor, it sees a lot of high rpms and lots of abuse.... id just like something to freshen it up without having to take the time to do a complete rebuild and tearing everything apart. not that i cant do it, i just dont feel like doing it and honestly where i live i cant find mustangs in the junk yard because of the climate, no one drives em around here. but mountaineers and explorers are a dime a dozen and a lot of em here have that 4.6 ...

psh 30*, it was -11 when i started up the mustang this morn lol.. funny story, i backed er into a snow bank yesterday and plugged the tail pipes, so i finally found some of my exhaust leaks, its comin off my manifolds(musta worked some bolts loose) so ill be working on that probably tonight or tomorrow. i have the joy of using a one car garage with a propane heater.. maybe warm it up to 10 degress... lol something to do i guess.
