A spool is not the way to go with a street car at all. Rebuild your rearend with these and it will be good for moderate hp and track use. http://www.jegs.com/i/Ford-Racing/39...oductId=753282
I've had those in my car for 2 years now and I've had no problems with one wheel burnouts since.

+1 NO spool on a street car. street drivin sucks with one, i had one in my old jeep and it wore the tires off really quick and squealed around every corner. cops were always lookin just think what they would do to a guy in a mustang.

On street tires it's just a game of trial and error with very little success. I'd leave just like you were at a stoplight and not wanting to spin, just ease out and roll into it.

Slipping the clutch has worked best for me, especially on 17" rims with either stock tires or Nitto DR's. I've never tried a line lock, so I can't speak for that.

neither....

line lock is more for doing burnouts.

dumping the clutch on street tires your just going to spin out.
