Default 2000 Gt transmission issue

So iv'e got a 2000 Gt with the automatic transmission in it and im having a bit of a problem. when im at wot, the car doesnt want to shift out of first gear into second gear without hitting the rev limiter first. i have to let out of the gas some before the car will shift. ive tried loading a less aggresive tune on the tranny into my car, but same problem. this is the only issue with it and i hope to get it figured out soon. ive heard that it could possibly be the 1-2 shift solenoid. any thoughts?

Load the stock tune, then see where things stand...

+1, if you have non-stock rear-end gears the shiftpoints will be all screwed up...

He has 4.10s in his car now but I think he said the other night that it did it before he put the 4.10s in.

the car has done it a few times when it was completely stock. yes it has 4.10's, its been calibrated for the gears. and i wont change my shift points and have a guessing game of when my car will actually shift out of first. i dont think the problem is in the tuning, but then again im not sure thats why i asked.

Im not sure if this would take care of your problem 100% or not but a Transgo Shift Kit does wonders (auto). IMO 1 of the best mods for any auto.

It prob aint the TRANSGO because mine was more than 80 & i got my direct (I'd go transgo) but regardless.... go to their website & im pretty sure they still have up a downloadable video showing you how to install the kit yourself. You'll need prob 6-8 bottles of automatic transmission fluid as well as several hours. I had no idea what the heck i was doing but i learned on the fly. Installed it okay w/ the help of one of my buddies, though he knew about as much as i did about cracking opening a transmission lol. Yea... i love it Im suprised more guys don't make threads about it. I know of only several, 1 of which i started.
