Default p0340

HEy guys i just picked up a mustang well its my gfs car she didnt want it anymore cause of the payments so i took over the payments so now its mine. Anyway im now taking over the problems she caused lol. My check engine light came on and it was P0340 which is the camshaft sensor. I replaced it and the check engine light came on and the car is hard to start and sometimes dies after starting it. I searched the forums and noticed that it might be because of the alternator, so i tested it friend told me to start the car and take the positive terminal off the battery and if it dies than its a bad alternator. The car didnt die so he told me that it wasnt my alternator i dont know if thats a full proof way of testing it...

that is def one way to check to see if your alternator is good or not. However, that test doesn't tell you exactly HOW MUCH voltage it is supplying... it could be JUST enough to keep the car running but not much more (although this would mean that you battery would ultimately die, due to the fact that it couldn't charge)

Take it to auto zone or similar and have them actually test it.
