Default Superharger Pulleys

Hey guys, hope someone can give me some help and clarification on this. I bought a v-1 s trim head unit and am going to be buying the rest of the peices this summer. My question, though, is what the difference between then 6 and 8 rip pulleys are. It has an 8 rib pulley on it - not sure of size, and I know GT's use 6 rib belts. Is my only option to buy a new pulley, a 6 rib one? Does the size of that pulley effect the belt size I need?

Any help is appreciated.

The SC belt will only drive the SC. All you need is for the upper and lower pulleys to be the same type. An 8 rib is wider, with mire surface area= more grip and less chance of belt slip.

the eight rib on the s/c will work will the 6 ribs of the rest of the car but u have to run a 6 rib belt and u have to make sure its on there tight or else u run the chance of shredding the belt and breaking something.

OR u can opt for the 8 rib kit from vortech for 800 bucks and go all out. i think when u get up to 16lbs of boost 8 rib is needed. i dunno if u ever plan on that route.

dont even try using that pulley unless you have a forged motor. i don't know what size it is but the previous owner was at 14lbs of boost or something like that with it. that's bad news on a stock bottom he had an MMR block.

Not sure on the diameter. My goal isn't to push that much power from this whole kit. I'd be happy in the 375-380 or just under 400 range when all modding is done. So the 8 rib, and apparently high boost pulley I have isn't needed. I'll measure and let you know. Where can I find the best prices on pulleys? ANyone know?
