Default 6 disk changer problem

My 6 disk changer doesnt work. It says slots are full but says error and wont open the door to put a cd in.

Whats wrong with it?

How hard is it to replace these things because i need a cd player!

6-disk changer is a peice of crap on our cars.

what happens is there's a rack system inside the changer and it gets jammed up - sometimes the CD's dont load properly in thier respective racks and get jammed between the rack. i ended up taking mine out and pulling the face cover off - the previous owner had jammed about 10 CD's in there that it wasnt registering.

honestly, i would say get a new pioneer headunit and replace it. if you dont have the cash, maybe a cheaper sony unit would suit your needs depending on how much sound your lookin for. PLUS if you go single din (half the size of your current radio) you can put a trim around it for some space to throw your wallet or CD's or your phone or something so its not in your pocket while driving...

This happened to me a while back. I bought another stocker (used) and the it was the same thing as soon as I plugged it in. I wish there was some way to fix the stock Visteon's....Personally I like the clean stock look the most.

Default does anyone know how to manually eject the CDs?

I read elsewhere on the Web that you can MANUALLY eject a CD that is stuck. Does anyone know how to do that? The automatic will not work and gives me "CD error" and switches to radio.

If you can live without that CD, I would pull that deck out, trash it and just buy a new one..
