the guy who did mine charged me $200. I just did it because of convenience. He told me after if anyone ever came to him to do sub frame install he would charge 4 hours of labor (i think that's about $310) or something like that.

Thank goodness i was the first.

You should always pull back the carpet when welding underneath

That's what I was thinking. These guys obviously don't realize how hot it gets when you're welding.

I know how hot it gets when welding it just doesnt reach where the carpet is when your doing the sfcs.

No ****? Well ill have to check next time honestly im not being a jacka$$ haha. I just didnt think it got that hot that far into the car cause its only a couple beads and a lot of them are on the subframe. Ive done like 5 sfcs installs now ill have to check the next one i do just out of curiosity.

The place that did my subframe install on my old Firebird placed big bags of ice on the carpet close to where the welding was done, and there were no issues.

FWIW, if one was to pull the carpet before having subframes done, how much of a PITA is it to pull the carpet?

I got my installed for 150.... & know they didn't pull back the carpet. But hey no burned marks so im G2G Btw... i watched the mech weld em on (MM FLSFC's) and mine lined up perfect.
