Default Friend plans on swapping

My friend currently has a 99 V6 Mustang. He is planning on finding aV8 GT Mustang engine to put in his Mustang. Is this a good idea? Has anyone else tried this before? Your comments and advice are appreciated.

he is crazy for suggesting it and that just shows he has no knowledge or mechanical aptitude whatsoever. i know a guy who said he was gonna get a sixer and swap a 32v motor in...guess what he has...a stock *** sixer that he will never mod, guarantee it. <edited><editID>mustangforums</editID><editDate>37972.0575578704</editDate></edited>

It's not that bad of an idea, he will spend a lot of money doing it unless he does it himself. </P>

He will need all the wiring harnesses, the motor will bolt right up to his tranny, but he will need to do something about the crappy rear in his car, he will get absolutely no traction. I believe he will have to upgrade his fuel system also along with the computer.</P>

MY FRIEND AND I JUST CONVERTED A V6 TO V8. IT'S NOT TO BAD IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY. YOU'LL NEED THE MOTOR/TRANS/WIREING HARNESS COMPUTER.YOU'LL ALSO NEED TO UPGRADE THE REAR AND THE BRAKES.IT'S NOT THAT HARD, BUT THERE ARE ALOT OF LITTLE THINGS THAT WILL NICKEL AND DIME YOU. THE ONE GOOD THING IS YOUR INSURENCE WILL BE FOR A V6 WHEN YOU GOT A V8.</P>

O YEA YOUR EXISTING TRANNY WILL BOLT UP TO THE MOTOR. BUT DON'T EXPECT IT TO LAST PAST THE FIRST OIL CHANGE.
