Default Wheels, Tires - Will this work?

Anyone know if I will run into trouble with this configuration?

18X9.5 Rims all around
255x45x18 - Front
285x40x18 - Rear
45 - Offset

The above configuration came off a 2009 Shelby.

They will be going on a 2004 GT. Will they work?

Thanks

-J

You'll want spacers. The S197 wheels don't have the correct offset to be used on SN95 cars. They'll be tucked in.

So I guess you mean these rims will hit the calipers because they will sit in too far?

Are these spacers an item I can get at Autozone or a similiar store by asking for spacers for this application?

Thanks

"new edge" cars are still classified as SN95 cars

I would not look to run a 9.5" wheel up front on an SN95, as the off-set will have to be pretty near perfect. A +40mm wheel is gonna need somewhere around a 3/4" spacer, so would need to replace your lug-bolts and very likely roll the fenders as well. The OEM bolts will stick past the spacer and hit the wheel if there is not a space to accomodate them.

I recommend you stick with a set of 9"s & 10"s of your model year to fit them properly.

Jazzer, Thank you for the explanation. I will wait and purchase the recommended sizes from American Muscle or a similiar source instead of trying these 09 shelby rims..

While I have you . I have also considered going up to 19 inch. Where do you stand on that?

Thanks
