Default Sputtering/hesitation in part throttle

So, I really hate my car. It never seems to run right. Sometimes when I am in PT it runs great and sometimes it sputters and hesitates. The severitiy of the sputtering/hesitation also varies. When I go WOT it runs like a champ (or maybe i don't noticed it hesitating).

Any idears?

Have you checked the plugs/coil rubber boots?

^ Agree also check for arking at night time near plug area.

Id also check your fuel filter or fuel pump.
get a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure.

Fuel pumps are low mileage dual cobra pumps. I have been meaning to get an underhood fuel pressure gauge. Guess I should get on top of that

I wonder if the TPS may have something to do with your issue then.

My engine was doing the same thing for about 6 months. I checked my plugs, MIL eliminators, battery, fuel filter. All that crap couldn't figure it out. I figured I just needed a custom tune for the off road exhaust, TB, intake, and plenum upgrade. Then she went BOOM!

Not sure if that had anything to do with it, but just letting you know.

Well TPS should not give any of these symptoms, the TPS is mechanical it has a coiled spring in it, when they go bad its usually because the spring is worn and the sensor beleives the throttle body is partially open which causes a idle rpm increase. If anything it might just need some new plugs, maybe an IAC, or a fuel dilevery issue.

Plugs are fairly new, but who knows. I hope its not fuel related I really don't want to deal with fuel

Actually, a bad tps could cause these symptoms; at least based on my own experience with an Escort I had years ago. But if it were that it would be accompanied by a cel, which was not mentioned in the op so I guess we can only assume it's not on.
