Default Shutting off traction control??

Anyway to set up my traction control so that it is always off on when I start my car? I read that it might be possible with an SCT tuner but I am curious if anyone figured out how to do it without a tuner.

You can wire a small electronic device behind the dash that does the same thing as a hand-held tuner. I have one will sell to you for the price of 1 can of Guinness and shipping (probably about $8.00 if interested PM me )

Any idea where I can still get one of those devices? Seems the new versions of SCT tuners will no longer turn off the traction control. I am getting tired of hitting the button every time I start the car.

My SCT tuner also worked fine to shut it off, but if you don't want/can't go that route, PM me. I think I still have mine laying around and will sell it to you for the cost of shipping and 2 pints of Guinness as I am 'bout to finish this baby off right now

Bama can't help me today. All the tuners are out at the track. SCT has evedently changed the firmware and the new tuners won't disable traction control anymore. Of course they can't confirm or deny anything. SCT has terrible customer service. I wish I would have gotten a Diablo tuner instead. I could go to a local tuner but I don't want to spend that much just to have the tc turned off.

I'm pretty sure a local tuner can access this portion of the program and turn it OFF, even with a "new" tuner.

I wish the default could just be set to OFF, then you could turn it ON if you wanted it (snow or wife borrowing the car).

Noob question, why do you want to turn off traction control? I read on the later model mustangs that are drive by wire that it retards timing and and closes the throttle, what does it do on these older stangs?

TC takes control away from the diver! This is a bad thing in The Book of Jazzer
