Default questions on engine swap

got a 97 GT with 105k miles on the engine. When tax check comes, I wanna get a new engine. Looking to push my car to 400HP without nitrous and blowing.

However, I dont know jack about cars, and dont know if I would have to replace anything after swapping engine. Any ideas on what engine to get, and waht would need to be done when swapping?

Thanks.

Brad

4.6-> 5.0 tubular K-member....

351w bored/stroked to 408. New driveline is a must...axles, trans, gears, t-lok, etc.

Or you could just buy a 99+ block, low comp. pistons, forged, forged rods and crank, and add a blower... why you want N/A hp is beyond me.

Because anybody can get a blower, slap it on and make 400+HP. It takes some strategy, planning and extra uummpphh to make 400NA.

I agree with David's first post. I was just looking at bored/stroked 351's on DSSRacing. Pretty cheap...good deal!

I was also wondering the intricacies of an egine swap. Especially a 351 into a 99-04 GT. Or something close to that

True, or maybe he likes the sound of the engine and doesn't want want to hear a whine or wistle and doesn't feel like installing nitrous.

Me. I would rather hear a V8 rumbling any day of the week.
