MA has strict emissions testing and laws. He will never get away with no cats here.

H pipes do not suck, disregard any comments by 2kPhoney. Choose between the h-pipe and x-pipe by what you intend on doing in the future with mods. H-pipes will give more low end grunt and x-pipes will give the top-end some breathing room.

wow..this is getting childish...haha. my friend has a BBK h-pipe on his 96' gt and it's pretty damn fast. i have no x-pipe to compare it with, but that's just my $.02. and the one x-pipe i've heard sounded like trash. but that doesn't mean yours will if you get one .

Dan, what was the name of the guy that put on the X pipe recently? Granite or something like that? Had all the pictures and stuff?
Anywho, the X pipe offers a smoother transition. The flow is not FORCED into a single pipe and then over into another. Fluids follow the path of least resistance. Having a gradual 45* bend and a straight shot to go through offer much less resistance than a 90* bend and a straight shot. Increased exhaust velocity and volume are recieved as a result of this.
Now for the low-end torque myth....DO YOU RACE AT FREAKIN 1000 RPM!?!?!?!The X pipe give AWSOME torque and horsepower gains, and can put open headers to shame provided it's backed up with a decent cat back.....in both torque and horsepower. Same thing with an H pipe set up. Go look up some dynos, you'll be suprised. Same thing with long tube and mid-length headers....DEMOLISH shorties in the mid range gain but onlly give a couple peak gains.....that's why they're "not that much better" even though they give an easy 25+ ft lbs and horses in the mid range over shorties.
"Hey, "2kPhoney" is my buddy, watch your filthy mouth. The x-pipe is the best to go as he said, believe me he knows what he is talking about, he has a high IQ."
A. So f**kin what? You going to come out to Ohio State and attempt to beat the rap outta me if I insult him? oooo.....e-thugin......
B. IQ don't mean s**t if you can't apply it. I know I've probably got a lesser IQ than most people on this board, but I still know just as much/more than most of them overall. Book smarts doesn't mean squat in the real world buddy. Application does.

PS, as far as the forcing air thing goes....V8's fire in even-odd sequences, so when the pulse from the even bank reaches the X transition, the odd bank just fired. There is no forcing, but rather it creates a suction and helps evacuate exhaust gases formt he motor faster.
