Default 300HP recommendations?

Im lookin to get 300Hp out of my engine naturally aspirated.(4.6L) At the wheels would be nice, but ill settle for at the flywheel. Any suggestions? Its a late 01 GT. I already have a Steeda CAI and Stack racing Plenum riser and Borla stinger Catback exhaust.

300 fwhp can be done with a couple more bolt ons. 300 rwhp will require heads and cams, or a shot of nitrous or blower.

HAHA, over time...im lookin to probably spend lots! In one shot though...im doing it one piece at a time.

A blower is in the distant future....ill be saving up for that one over the long term. But, as i said...i can live with 300 at the flywheel for the close future. So recommendations? Im listening! Im thinking a tune would be good. And an X pipe. Aill be looking at some 4.10's possibly next spring, i know it wont add power, but it will make better use of what ive got. Maybe a throttle body and upper plenum? 70mm?

Add a set of cams and you should be at the 300 flywheel mark. Add a set of heads and long tube headers to that and you will be in the 300 wheel mark. Those are rough statements of power, but generally correct.

Cams, heads and exhaust will get you right around 300rwhp. Those are good mods for any future plans(except turbo).

If a lot of power is the goal, you need to plan a forged motor build and begin accumulating parts for that. Stock bottom end is risky beyond ~430rwhp(some guys do it though).

I'm in the same spot as you. I just got a 2001 GT two weeks ago and want to get close to 300hp. I'm starting next payday with Steeda CAI, 70mm throttle body and plenum, under drive pulleys, programmer, and 3.73 gears and drag radials to put the power down. My best run at the 1/8 mile was a 9.5 with my average closer to 10 even. I hope I can get down in the low 9's with these bolt ons. FI'm going to a local performance shop in a couple days to run all of this by them and see if they think I'm going in the right direction. Hopefully we can both get some good input from others!
