HELP!! 96 cobra won't start
#11
I could be wrong I haven't played with mod motors for a few years so not sure if there are new products out for them. But I know before you couldn't use a tuner.
But your problem is for sure the bigger injectors with no tune. DO NOT try to start that new engine again until you get the correct tune loaded. That much fuel will wash the cylinders of your new engine and the rings will never seal causing you to rebuild it all again.

wow. ok. not good. last thing i want. those injectors are high impenence. I will see what i can get from the tune first. Is it possible that i have already washed the cylinders? I'm a bit worried now. I'm not sure if having them ceramic coated, and file to fit rings would help me or not. I hope so.

Your probably still ok. Id put the stockers in and crank her up and let it get up to temp and maybe take it for a test drive but stay out of boost no matter what. You don't want to go to the tuner with out making sure it all runs first.

ok. so i removed the chip in the ECM. Tried the haange ndheld tuner. still will no change tunes written, unlock stock failed. unlock cm failed. so essentially, unable to tune at this point. calling the dyno now... try to see whats up.

So i have it tuned, i found one sensor not connected thats directly under the powersteering fluid canister that goes into the block. The other non connected sensor goes directly behind the driver side valve cover. I believe its the EGR Pressure sensor, i do not have that connected, and don' thave the sensor. It may not be, but i'm thinking it is. It takes both tunes, have the other connector connected, dried plugs off with an air compressor and a towel, added 4 old plugs that used to be in it, still nothing. The dyno believed that after it was tuned and fuel psi dropped to 35psi, would no longer flood and start. so far.....not the case.

i called glens performance, expained the setup. I was thinking the same. He said it was fine, that it had to be after the fuel rails to keep rail pressure. explained the entire setup, said get it tuned, should start. tuned.... not starting
