Default Leaking coolant

Hey guys, seems like I'm losing coolant from this part, not sure what it's called or what I'd need to do to fix it. It's the part that the radiator hose connects to.

This is what it looks like

Any info? and yea, the engine bay is dirty, as is the whole car, been raining quite a bit here.

Its the aluminum crossover leaking where it bolts up to the intake manifold. I had this problem with my 04 and the only way to fix it is to remove the intake manifold. More than likely it is cracked and you probably need a new intake.

Hrmms any good way of testing to see which part it is without removing everything? And a PI intake is all I need right?

Yes a pi intake and a manifold gasket. Unfortunately the only way to really figure it out is remove the intake and then take the crossover off to see if the gasket has failed or if the intake is cracked. 99% of the time the intake is cracked. Its not that big of a job to replace it. I was a little nervous doing mine but after 4 hours and some handtools I had mine fixed. It really does look harder than what it is.

Any other maintenance or other things I should replace/repair while in there.

If I buy this ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/intake-manifold.html ) from AM, will I be running the risk that it may crack like the oem one? Would it be worth the money to go with this ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/trickf...mm-9904gt.html ) so I don't need to worry about paying for another replacement if the new one cracks.

While you are doing the job you could replace the spark plugs and cop boots. Do a coolant flush and clean the top side of the heads real good along with the throttle body and injectors. As far as going with the performance intake I wouldn't do it unless I had the money to go with a larger tb, injectors, and fuel pump. Thats my 2¢ maybe someone else will chime in.
