Default Help from expert 4.6 owners on plans for engine build

I got my first mustang 4 or 5 months ago, lost my license (17 years old) via a speeding lol and when i get to drive again I want to make it faster. The cars only got 42,XXX some miles on it and im wondering if it would be easier to build the 4.6 to be an NA monster, buy thngs needed to super/turbo charge it or buy a cobra motor and just install that after my current motor has gotten to its limits. Help from anybody who has built their engines, went into super/turbo chargers or who has done engine swaps would be really appreciated cause money is no big, im 17 and work like dog

Simply put, you won't be making a NA monster out of a 2v, im sure its possible to make 350ish with it NA but it was cost an ABSORBENT amount of money. Your best bet is to run a form of forced induction and be done with it. The stock rotating assembly will handle 400-420ish rwhp. Anything higher and your rolling the dice with bad odds.

I am not trying to be a di**, but you are 17 and already lost your license due to speeding and you want to make your car faster???? My suggestion is to not do anything. Drive the car the way it is and save yourself some money and more tickets.

i dont think you need to not drive, but i would deff be more concerned with learning how to drive such as to keep your license so that you can keep driving the car you like. Beyond that. If money is no big, id say save your money, sell the gt, buy a 03-04 cobra. Youll find youll be neck deep in money spent, just for a gt when you could have started with a car that will hold its value and has a much better platform. Ive put lots of money in my gt, and i could have had a cobra, would have made more sense to do that, cuz my car isnt worth the money i put in it.

skip the drive train...lol thats what im saying in the end its still a gt worth about 15k if its perfect and redone even with the cobra drive train most likely. my point is the gt will never be worth the money you put into it, and its a horrible go fast starting point. the cobra at least stands a chance. and of course a few thousand bucks gives you over 500 rwhp reliably. looking at at least 6-10k just for the motor stuff to do that to a 2v if you do a lot of the work yourself haha

Im no pro driver but iv spent my life around cars, iv raced go carts when i was younger and have been in am. stock car races before and im not saying im the best driver but i can drive a car better then any teens my age. But i dont think my car will retain much value because ill probably have it for a good 5 years and its only worth about what i paid for it which is around 10k id be better off buying a new car. Iv also looked around at pro chargers and a dohc 4.6 are about the same price ranges. Plus id much rather keep the body in good shape and give to my future son as a first car. Pro charger is a hell lot easier to mess with and if need be can be taken off

Im probably going to just buy a procharger kit, any ideas about what brand is better or to get a new or used one, iv looked at getting a V-3 Vortech Supercharger, Should get more then the hp i want and torque to more then keep up with modern cars on the street and be fun on the drag strip also, after installing the supercharger what gears should i buy because the stock wont be good enough and should i get a different suspension?
