Looking to buy a 98-2003 GT! What should I look for?
#11
Yeah thanks TRex I have been scouting prices for about a month now. 5k-6k gets me some good looking GT's. I am wondering what I should be looking for mechanically wise, I mean when I get there and up the hood. Also, should I go with a private seller as opposed to a dealer. The reason I ask is because I have noticed that owner sellers have upgraded their vehicles.

Look for a private sale, you can talk to the person who drives it and took care of it. I just bought my 2003 gt, paid less than 8K for it and it is in great shape. Mileage is under 100,000. However I am in Canada and convertable season has ended.
I had talked to about 10 different people about there cars they had for sale, pics looked great but when I showed up to look it was a real let down. Quite a few cars I would't even look at because the owners talked about the car like they were in the fast and furious and I did not want a beat car. Good luck on your search.

My 2001 GT Convertible comes up Deluxe by the VIN number but it has all the Premium options (other then) Mach 1000
The options my car has would be Premium on 03/04 GT's
