Default what guage clusters work in a 98 gt

a guy is offering me one from a 97 cobra, will it work? also if i have no luck finding one where is the best place to to send it to get it fixed? can i fix it myself even?

it doesnt work lol. its hard to explain, i dont quite remember exactly what it did. the needle was jumpy and totally inaccurate

I'd make sure it's a speedo issue and not a sensor issue at the trans before pulling your dash out to swap in a different unit.

I'm pretty certain a GT gauge cluster wont work in a Cobra so I'd guess a cobra cluster wouldn't work in a GT?

Then again, I could be completely wrong too!

what would the speedo do if it was the sensor? i have a v6 cluster in there for the monent and its off by about 30mph but doesnt act like the original one

You can't just plug-n-play different versions. V6 to V6, GT to GT, Cobra to Cobra is the basic rule without redoing them to match.

If the sensor is/was failing, it could do anything (bounce, read low, read high, not read at all...read right, but only sometimes...).

Im confused.

If folks are saying the V6 cluster will not work in your GT, why are you worried about the sensor?

I'd be worrying about getting a compatible gauge cluster
