I thought they changed them in 01 on the GT's to the scoops my car has. Your car definitely has the earlier ones. Perhaps a previous owner swapped them over?

Congrats on the good buy.
I'm also bias towards black on black.
As for your side scoops your probably have a early 01' which means it would have all the 99' style cues. They didn't change the side scoops until mid way through 01'
You can check this on the drivers side door there is a white sticker with the cars VIN and the month/year it rolled off the line.

I want to go as narrow as I can on that 10 inch wheel. better ride quality and less money. does a 260hp car need more than 255s? i think not. not for my purposes.

also my VIN says its a Deluxe. Premium just means Leather doesnt it? My 97 is a deluxe and has leather and AUTO tranny. Hmm it also says green check mark to next to-

"Engine block heater *STD & only available in Twin Cities Region*"
Modified MacPherson strut front suspension w/front stabilizer bar

i would really appreciate a car fax from someone if they have the unlimited amount service. PM me if you want to.

I always thought the 2001 GT's came with the bigger scoops, and any changes in mid model year were just for the transmission and water pump, meaning all 2001 GT's should have come with the bigger side scoops, hood scoop, and different spoiler along with smoked headlamps (and a little different center console layout). Was your car built early that model year?
