The reason the ACCEL's and MSD's have a higher spark rating is not the quality of material but in the gauge and wind of the wire in the pack.

With aftermarket coil packs because of the design, you give up CP life for extra spark. The problem here is, the stock coil pack will far surpass the RPM's that a stock motor can handle.

If it's cheaper to by the Accel's and replace one or two every year then by all means do it, but if it's cheaper to but a set of Egay or Amazon for half the price and the same "USABLE" Power rating, go with them. ...I'm pretty sure some of the cheap ones have a 1 year warranty if you want to deal with shipping crap through the mail.

Most people buy based on an imaginary performance mods. If that's your thing, don't let me stop you.

I buy parts based on if the old ones need replacing, and all I need is what will work best, nothing more, at the best price. If you have experience with accel coils crapping out after a year or two let's hear all about it.

I too have a COP going out on me so for me the most cost effective approach was a set of Accels. $25 each($199.95/8) vs ~$100 each for stock COPs.

Accels have ~22,000 output vs ~20,000 stock. The aftermarket units I have seen guys gripe about have been the 40,000 output units.

I will absolutely post up if I experience any negative results from the new Accels.

I replaced 1 accel after the 03 sat for 6 months.

My buddy has had Accels for about 7 years and he replaces one or two coil packs every season.

MSD's and the so-called Granatelli brand packs are the worst offenders.

I should say that Most problems with stock coil packs is not the coil pack itself but a worn/torn boot.

Well, I got a set of Accels for $165 shipped from Titan Motorsports, so I guess I'll see what happens when they get here.

OEM is pretty much the only way to go.

Motorcraft, I had all kind of issues with "permformance" aftermarket coil packs and switching back to motorcraft fixed all my issues on the dyno.

My WeaponX coil packs have been on for a while, working as they should, no issues, I like 'em! Put AP104 plugs in too. Very nice performance.
