Buying used 99' GT with with one problem
#22
I want to start with I haven't looked at the pics pc broke phone sucks. 2. if it has major body damage to the fender or door walk away my back yard mechanic that used to do all my work on my first one a 2000 v6 front fender painted cost me 600 shop said 1300. the wheel can be replaced for 125 to 150 the wheel is the least expensive thing on a gt you will have to replace I just bought. my 99 gt with 2500 cash out the door. it is black with chrom wheels primium aniversery edition. bbk headers x pipe magnaflow mufflers bbk cai and 3.73 gears and 83000 miles it has a salvage title because it was wrecked in ny rebuilt by a shop in ohio and the only 2 visable damge areas out side are the hood shakes when it goes over 70 because it wasn't properly aligned and the front bumper on the driver side has a small gap at the fender that I will fix as soon as I have some spare time the frame is good and even though it is a salvage it runs good. main point there are cheap gems out there just keep looking

that door/fender problem is clearly from some tard opening the door when the fender was pushed back a little. That damage could have been avoided to that extent had they not opened the door so hard while the fender was pushed back. What you need find out is why that fender got pushed back in the first place

Ill say it again, GET A CARFAX, spend the $35 its well worth it! YES it will not report everything but its a good way to see if a accident has been reported and/or the status of the title (clean/salvage), plus it will also show the last reported milage. If I still had some left over I would run one for you. Anyone can change out the gauge cluster with a lower milage one.

Well for anyone still following this I did an AutoCheck history report (because its free for ebay users vs carfax) and it shows he bought it with 22k in 2010 like he said. It shows history of 1 accident where it had to be towed in 2011. The report says it was a front right collision with a guard rail. And it shows he had his transmission serviced 6/2012 at 43k miles and this confirms he did get a new clutch about 10k miles ago. So its looking alright with the history once again I'm just waiting till we can get it in the garage this week to look it over. I'll keep you guys posted.
