Default oil leak after oil change droping near midpipe

Sorry for another oil leak thread. I just got a oil change at a shady garage a week or so ago. Im not 100 percent saying it was their fault but its funny how this just showed up. I have done some "spirited" driving since then.

My GT only has 65K on it. It leaks worse when I first get back from a drive. Same spot every time. I have searched a bunch of old threads and read that it could be an oil filter gasket or even a stripped drain plug bolt. I don't think its the plug though because leak is at my midpipe right where my prochamber is. Im not sure if its leaking somewhere else and just following my exhaust to that spot.

What do you guys think? My car has always had a bit of oil in the passanger side valve cover. Cylinder # 1 I suppose? I have never worried about it because I hear that is common. Anyways, I have cleaned that out so I will see how soon it appears again. That put aside what do you think is the cause of the leak?

Also its more that a drop or two, about the size of a cup holder plus every time.

Step 1:

LOOK UNDER THE CAR.

Step 2:

Check if the oil filter and drain plug are tight.

Step 3:

If a leak isn't obvious, clean the area around the oil filter and around the drain plug.

Step 4:

Drive.

Step 5:

Check for leaks around the filter and drain plug.

Oil could have spilled onto the engine, suspension or chassis during the oil change and could be dripping off the car as you drive.

Are you sure it's motor oil?

Why would you have your oil changed at a shady garage?

How big is a leak the size of a cup holder? Over what period of time?

I can't believe you haven't looked under the car yet.

everytime after I drive I put a brown piece of paper under car and see where leak is dropping its right by midpipe. Going to check filter and plug now. Almost immediately once home oil is leaking size or circumference of the bottom of 12 oz can.

SONIC, Thank you for response. Sometimes I just think the worst of things when its probably simple. First time I tried a new garage because its right down from my house. I check plug, Its Tight. I did not check filter but will do so tomorrow. I did not realize out oil filter was in the location it is. I have a darn good feeling the filter is just loose.

Brake clean everything underneath and start from the top down when looking for leaks

i just went to jffy lube and they let me go down below to look for leaks. I couldn't find ANYTHING. Filter tight, drain bolt tight. What does rear differential fluid look like? If it looks like engine oil that may be what it is. Because like I said above the oil is dripping right down where my midpipe (prochamber is).

found this link about a similar leak and it sounds like a pinion seal maybe.

Could be the rear main seal leaking, or it could be the transmission leaking. No telling until you get under there and look.
