Smile Wheels and Tire Specs

I need help from the wheel + tire experts. My question is; would running a 275 tire upfront be a problem? I want to run Nitto NT555's and from my understanding, Nittos tend to run on the narrower side. They look small compared to my current (stock) Goodyear 245/45/zr17 and I was looking to upgrade to a 275/35 18x9.5 upfront and 285/35 18x10.5 outback, but I am worried about rubbing/fitment issues. I know 285s won't rub, but it would stretch the tires a bit on a 10.5 wheel and the 295s would be ideal, but it would rub and I don't want to roll the fenders and whatnot. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

03+ cobras all run a 275, 01 R runs a 265. 275s should be an issue at all. I know a few people who run a 275 front and 315 or 305 (can't remember which) rear without issue. My question is if you want to run a 275 all the way around, why run an inch wider wheel in the back?

I am planning on running 275s upfront (18x9.5) and 295s outback (18x10.5), but my primary concern is rubbing. I also heard some people running that same setup, but I just want to make sure before doing so. It's a DD and nothing more. Thanks for your input, needmorespeed. It's appreciated.

Only reason why I am looking at that specific wheel/tire set up is because of the interest I found on LRS (SVE Series 1 wheels, 9.5" and 10.5")

On those sizes, unless you have an IRS bolted in or a big drop, a 275 and a 315 should clear without much issue. If you know someone is rubbing, make sure you know how much they have lowered their car. That make a big difference. Stock to 1.5" drop, from my experience, those sizes will fit all day.

even with an irs, 315's are fine and will not rub (with the proper offset wheel, which being a wheel designed for his car, it will.) As long as youre not too low, you will be fine.

Car hasn't been lowered yet and I am more than likely going to lower it using eibach pro-kit springs which will lower it about 1.5". With that being said, I'm really hoping I don't run into clearance issues. Thanks!

I'm guessing it'll rub w/o an IRS? Makes me wish I had a Terminator, lol!

No, it shouldn't rub with the stick axle. Rule of thumb in my experience is you can fit wider tires on the straight axle than the IRS that comes with the cobras. They look like really nice wheels, get and post a pic. Would love to see them on your car.

Your input is much appreciated. I would love to get them right now, but I am just kind of playing it safe and seeing what all (if any) needs to be modified on the car to make it properly fit. If that doesn't work out, I will more than likely go with 255/35 18x8.5 upfront and 285/35 18x9.5 outback. Sounds like an odd combo, but I think it'll look real good. I might try 275 18x9.5 since that's pretty much the ideal size for that size wheel width.
