Default What's a fair price?

So I was just offered $5000.00 for my Mustang. It's a 2003 GT 5spd covertible. It's yellow with 83k miles on the clock. Should I take 5000? I keep getting crap about "book value" but if you checked the book value on a foxbody Mustang you wouldn't see them higher than $2000.00 - $3000.00

Someone buying my car is looking for either a Mustang or a Mustang convertible and not just any car.

The top and headliner are brand new. The paint has some dings and scratches here and there.

Mods include;

MGW short throw shifter
HID lights
American Muscle 17" wheels with good rubber
4.10 gears
New Koni shocks in the rear
Accufab plenum
Airraid intake
Accufab 70mm throttlebody
BBK underdrive pulleys
Newer SR 150 amp alternator
SR coilpacks
H&R springs and isolators
SCT tuner custom tuned by local shop
Kenwood touchscreen
Spec stage 2 clutch
Lakewood u-joint
SLP loudmouth exhaust

All mods are less than 2 years old.

I don't think Id let it go for less than 7k. I sold a stock 2000gt for 5k with 125k miles on it.

With any kind of sale, something is only worth what someone will pay for it. With that in mind, if you keep getting offers in the 5k range then thats what the market will bear for your car. The book value is what buyers are looking at and mods for the most part aren't worth much. Most dealers would tell you the lower the value of the vehicle due to it no longer being stock and thus "less reliable". Im a buyer currently shopping for your exact car (minus the color) and I've looked at a lot of cars and probably wouldn't be willing to pay much more than your offer. I have cash and am not in a hurry though so I may be an exception. Ask yourself how important it is to sell the car? Is it worth hanging on to it another 6, 8, 12 months just to get 500-1000 more?

What was your asking price? If it's in the ballpark of 5k then take the money and run. 5k with low miles and decent mods seems a bit low though.

I thinking about selling mine, and think that I might have trouble getting 8k for a clean, bone stock 04 GT vert with 77k.
I figure that any fairly decent vert should be a 5k car simply as a fun car, almost regardless of year or model.
The mods would attract some buyers and turn off others.I wouldn't expect them to enhance the value.Stil,I think that you can do better than 5k.I'll note that winter in NH,may not be the best selling time for selling one..
