i have a 97 gt and it needed a new tps.after i replaced it and set it to the correct voltage it run perfect and got rid of the issue i was having.it did however create another problem.when im driving with the ac on the idle wants to hang at 1,500 rpms which is annoying to drive at speeds of 35 or less because it just wants to push the car down the road.before i replaced the tps the car would idle at 1,000 rpms with the ac on and 800 with the ac off.i cant think of what would cause it just by changing the tps.

you 100% sure the TPS is in the correct position? Have access to a multimeter?

yes i used a multimeter to set it.i figured out my problem though.i didnt unhook the battery when i installed the tps.i unhooked it over night and hooked it back up yesterday morning.runs perfect now
