If I was in your shoes, I'd look for an 01 Cobra. 4v heads, forged short block, better suspension, and you can get a blower when you have more $$ I'm saying this as a GT owner. GT's are easier to find, but if you ever want to make big power, you'll wish you had a Cobra.

If you're okay with stock GT power (I thought I'd be, that's why I bought one), then you'll save $$ with the GT.

That GT you are looking at is a little high. I got mine this spring with 7500 miles for $17,900.

I thought I would be ok with the power too but I was wrong, you'll be very happy with a mach or cobra.

I got my 03 Mach1 with 21,000 miles for $21,000... but It actually went for $19,000; B/c I had 2,000 negative equity in my 02 v6. They also gave me $10,800 for my 00 GT trade-in... Just an Idea what they usually buy it for. Check out kbb.com and nada.com to get price guides, and if I were you, print em out and keep em with you, so if they try to rip you off, but you really wnat the car you can shove that in their face (with tact) and get them to bring the price down, DONT forget to haggle!

Oh dude im gonna haggle. Im gonna get them down a bit or just walk away...And a few days later they will be calling just like always. Even when I went looking for a Stang a few months back, they are STILL Emailing me about them...

lol ill sell ya my 2004 sonic blue gt with 14k on it with a kenne bell sc mac o/r x pipe flowmaster cat back chrome 17by10.5 deep dish bullets and 17by 9 in the front i have a huge selection of parts if u wanted to buy them..... i was about to throw a fully forged engine in there but i decided to sell it.. well ill seel the car for 20kkkkk lol!!!! in san diego ca i just lowered it too!!! i mean i have a huge selection of parts all brand new....

^ Decent deal but I would say that takes all the fun out of getting a non-modded stang. It is a lot of fun to mod it your own way and say that it is your own creation.

Plus with those mods you know it has had a hard 14k miles. Mods don't help the value!

I know mine had a hard 7500 before I bought it, tires were rotated before I got it and the front ones are BALD AS HELL... rear ones are way down there now... at least winter came, need to get new tires before spring though.
