Does anybody know how long a factory clutch would last?Idrive a hundred miles a day in L.A. Traffic and at least redline daily at least once throughout the day just for fun.

It all depends on how you drive. If you drive on the highway daily, its gonna last longer vs. city driving. If you like tearing through the gears alot, it will go alot sooner.

I'd worry more about your engine going than your clutch. A clutch should last 70-100k miles, but your engine definitely isn't going to last that long beating on it like that everyday.

i just bought my 96 gt over a month ago and i just rolled it over 100k miles. the engagement point is realy high in the pedal stroke and it may be slipping a weee bit. my mechanic/uncle says 100k miles is about the life of a factory clutch.

Have 98K on the clutch - engage point is still low. Clutch is still good & stiff, with no slippage whatever. Like sprostang said, it all depends on how you drive.
