Default Thoughts on buying a used Supercharger

Alright guys, I really want to supercharge my car sometime soon, but financially I dont think I could afford spending 6 grand all together. I know that Nanaki bought a used vortech supercharger. I have been thinking about buying a used supercharger for a while now. I was wondering what you guys thought about buying a used s/c. What are the risks? And where would you guys suggest looking for one? and whats a good price on a vortech or a procharger? Thanks guys

There is nothing wrong with used superchargers. I would get it rebuilt though.

I bought my vortech from ebay. It was used and had a few hundert miles on it at least according to the seller. It was kind of risky because the item was from the other side of the country but the seller had a good feed back rating so went for it. All was well and I'm happy with the deal. I paid $1850 incl fuel injectors, diablo chip, air filter, 90m airmass, all the hardware and 3 different pulleys. Check on ebay and good luck.

wow thats a great deal man. I've tried looking on ebay and haven't had much luck. What do you type in under the search menu? And did you install the s/c yourself? If not what would it cost to get it done?

i paid 2200 for my used vortech. it came with MAF, head unit, 42lbs injectors, fuel pump, SCT chip, and AFM powerpipe. i had to buy a new mounting bracket/kit from vortech for my car. that was another $300. if you get a used vortech, i recommend getting a new mounting bracked anyway. it comes with a new belt with the bracket. just tell them what year and what type of unit you have.
