Maybe with a splitter, wing, and a whole lot of power (750+). Some weight reduction, lowering, and aero work might still be required. You'll basically end up with a NASCAR vehicle.

A Cobra is geared to go well over 200 mph (like many american cars). Twin turbo that thing, make it as low to the ground as possible (reduce underbody flow, and thus drag and lift) with a Cobra R front splitter, and agressive rear wing.

If you've seen the Get Away in Stockholm videos, they had a 450 rwhp Supra doing almost 200 mph. Considering they are only a bit more slippery than a stang, I would guess 600 rwhp is all you need.

A stock 99-04 GT will do right around 140mph with stock gears it takes awhile but it is possible.

There is a silver 2003 gt mustang in my driveway(my brothers) that reaches 140 mph in FOURTH gear. it has been done twice, once by the previous owner, and once by my brother with 2 witnesses in the car. So ill go out on a limb and say well over 140 mph can be reached by a 99-2004 gt

I don't doubt it hit 140mph but thats pretty much as fast as it can go. And he had two people in the car with him? Must have been the two dumbest people on earth

There were a couple of top speed tests that had the 99-04 style GT in them. A stock GT Mustang hit like 141mph and that was all she had. Then a LS1 stock Camaro and Trans Am did 160+mph. I'll look for the 2 different tests.

As speed increases the wind drag will increase at a faster rate. So yes the Stang might hit 140, but in order to go, say 160, you might need a 150 hp increase in power. (these numbers are just hypothetical) but you get my drift.

It was just an example to remind people of the drag coefficient at the relative speeds.

His numbers didn't really mean anything, just that we need to keep it in mind.

I completely forgot about it myself, glad he reminded me.

this is a dumb story, but about 3 years ago my buddy had a 95 GT convertible with a bassani x-pipe, flows, cai, and 3.55 gears. we were on our way up to austin at about 11 at night and he hit a little above 125 with the top down. we were young and dumb, what can i say
