I recently bought a 97 GT which is step up with different tires on the front and back. The front has Dunlop SP Sport FM901 245/45ZR17 95W and the back has Goodyear Ultra Plus Eagle HP 245/45ZR17. I consider myself knowledgible about cars but I know nothing about tires. I know its not uncommon to run different tires. Two weeks ago while changing lanes on a rainy day (going about 30 in 3rd gear) I had a complete loss of traction which ended in me facing the wrong way in the middle of the road. Is this setup ok or should the tires be switched front to back???

usually people do it to save money, although the dunlops are cheap as dirt so i dont know why they would do that...also the dunlops are NOT made for the rain at all...if you want a dry/wet tire i suggest you get a new set.
