Default TPS(I think my car is officially DONE)

wow, Ok as many know... I have been fighting with with the IDLE of my car now/rpms since I put on my CAI,TB and PLEN.
so this is like the fourth time of re-doing it/checking it all over etc... etc... etc...etc....etc....etc!!!!
well so today I just decided to put on my new TB along with my new plenum
(I had to put on a new TPS throttle position sensor b/c the other one would NOT come off my stock TB)
ok well I put everything on... everything goes on quick easy tight... smooth.
I re-connect the bat cable... and go for the big "crank up" and guess what?
SAME EXACT THING! except now---- i have a WHINE noise... that is NON_STOP! a high pitched whine!
I see SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON...
so I plug in the Diablo and diagnostics and I see the code come up taht says...
"THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR A LOW INPUT"
and it is the actuall TPS that is making that WHINE noise.... (so LOUD!)
SO I am about to just FLIP.
PLEAse help me out here....
now not only does it make the GROSS idle noise "vrrrm, vrrrm, vrrrrm" and rpms jump and engine shake... but now it also makes a WHINE!

All help is appreciated!
THANK YOU!

so you put evething back to stock? and everything was fine? it could be that you just got a bad TPS. try and put the stock TB on with all the aftermarket stuff and see what happens. try swaping out one item at a time and see if you can pin point what it is. thats just my .02

try putting the stock pieces back on to see if it returns to normal, if not, your best bet would be to take it to a mechanic to see where you messed up

as far as the whinning, is everything clear and free flowing where the air filter is? make sure that filter is breathing properly. sometimes the cai is a tight fit where the filter is. also check the silicone connector(s) to be sure there tight - no leaks. best bet is to try one piece at a time with the stock pieces.

Im pretty sure that when you install a new TPS, you have to set it or calibrate it.

Installing a new TPS was a pain in the buttocks, at least for me. I broke two of them putting them on...they are really easy to break if you don't know exactly what you are doing. And it was hard as hell to get the original one off. I stripped it, ended up having to buy a special drill bit to dig a new hole in the screw so I could actually get it out, lol. Pretty much just ended up destroying the screws to get the damn thing off. And, yes, they do need to be calibrated. You need a volt reader. Pierce the center wire connected to the TPS (can't remember the color...gray? white?) with a needle and touch the needle with the volt reader. I can't remember the exact voltage it needs to be at. Between .97 and .99, something like that, but double check. It's somewhere on the forums. Anyway, you adjust it by tightening/loosening the screws.

As for the whining...seriously, and I don't mean this to be degrading, but check ALL the vacuum tubes connected to the plenum. There is one on the back near the firewall that people seem to always miss. I really think you both missed a pipe and broke your TPS.

The TPS is about $40 a pop. My advice? Take it to a mechanic, let him install the TPS. If you can't get it the first time, you will likely keep breaking it. TBs and plenums are easy to install...but that damn TPS...

Ford did mine...$40 for the part and about $30 or so for the install. I had already installed everything else and managed to get the car to the dealership despite the insane idle...

Good luck, hope this helps.

Not to divert or anything, but which aftermarket tb/plenum did you get?
