Stock GT piping
the reason i ask is because i might start out with just mufflers, and in that case they will have to be 2.25... then when i want to add an xpipe .. it will also have to be 2.25... so the result will be my entire system being 2.25 accept with new mufflers and an xpipe instead of the stock setup

Well just oder a 2.5" cat back system. The later on get a X-pipe. Then you'll have a 2.5" system.

if i were to keep all the piping at 2.25 but get a magnaflow x-pipe with highflow cats and the flowmaster super 40 series mufflers... would i still notice a good amount of power gained?
