I dont know where you heard that but whoever said it knows s**t about Nitrous (by the way is not NOS)..As long as your engine is tune for it you will have no problems, all kits on the market are safe......try it..</P>

</P>

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. Didn't know it wasn't NOS though? Isn't that a brand of nitrous? I really am mis-informed apparently.</P>

The one caveat though is the boost is short lived. Correct? Never driven a car with Nitrous on it. How much of a kick do you get? What is a 100+ wet spray?</P>

</P>

People always seem to flame when someone says NOS... the ricers in TFATF ruined that acronym. It is technically OK to say NOS. The company termed their namebrand after the acronym Nitrous Oxide System.So it's a bit uninformed to flame someone for saying NOS... but it is now a ricer term, so I guess itshouldn't be used.</P>

Thanks Paul Walker! <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"></P>

4.30s are way to high to go for a street setup, unless your running an automatic.</P>

Im perfectly happy with my 3.73s, anything higher wouldnt be a good idea imo, unless you dont care at all about milage and dont want to drive on the highway faster than about 65-70.</P>

I don't remember what he said the name was, but I knowhe didn't say it was from NOS. Hope I'm not misleading you by misinformation. Anyway, I've also got cai, MAC70mm, a ported-n-polished intake plenum, Superchips flash module and steeda tri-ax shifter. Never had lots of dough at once for somethin' really bad, and never have patience to save up. No doubt, nitrous would give the biggest bang for your buck, but make sure you take advice of someone who knows about it from experience (that ain't me).</P>

sounds like NO2junkie knows a lot about it. Good luck, man.</P>

This is a noob question but what does MAF stand for and what exactly does it do and why is it so restrictive?</P>

As for the first mod like I said I went exhaust, but most people will say go gears. As for 3.73 vs 4.10, 3.73's u wont see much difference in your gas mileage unless you are doing long trips. Where as 4.10's you will probably see a little differnce in the gas mileage. So it all depends on what u want. Obvioulsy 4.10's are gonna give u better peformance gains but some people say it makes daily driving it a painin the ****.</P>

One more question. I'm going for that deep muslce sound on my 96 GT. I just ordered the Flowmaster American Thunder. I was trying to choose between MAC and Flowmaster do you think I made the right choice for what I am going for? Also do get my sound deeper and louder what mod should do I next?</P>

MAF - Mass Air Flow - senses the amount of air coming into the engine. why is it restrictive...plastic POS!<IMG src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0"></P>

</P>

If you want deep sound and not too much performance, flowmasters are it for you. I like the sound and performance of Magnaflow MUCH better!<IMG onclick="AddSmileyIcon'smileys/smiley2.gif'" alt=Wink src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"> If you have the catback, why not get a high flow H-pipe? that will give you deeper sound than a X-pipe. I think BBK would be a good choice.</P>

I personally like a deep grumble myself, however, my wife drives mine daily so I had to keep it tame on my '01. It sounds like your lookin for what flowmaster will best provide. How much of the exhaust are lookin to swapout? If your lookin for baby nascar go with 3" X-pipe, high-flow cats (converters) if they're inforced in your area, and top it off with 2-chamber Flows. If you can pony-up the cash I'd definitely add headers too. That set-up by itself will give at least 30 rwhp. I think you made the right choice on your exhaust, so you can take my opinions with a grain of salt or implement them if you didn't get it all the first go-round.I ain't 'summinyour ignernt, but just in case your tryin to locate your MAF it's located between your intake andair filter. If your take it off you'll noticetheI.D. is blocked by a tight-mesh screen, whichmay further answer your question about why it's so restrictive. Another reason may be that factor doesn't do justice to any engine they engineer.<edited><editID>silstang</editID><editDate>38027.8601273148</editDate></edited>

By high flow h-pipe do you mean like an off-road h-pipe or are there other forms of high flow h-pipes. For how much of the exhaust I'm looking to swap out. I'm going to do whatever it takes to get that low deep rumble.
