Default Recommed Exhaust Setup

Hi fellas,

Ok I'm getting to purchase an exhaust setup for my 01 S281SC. I plan on going with LTs & an X-pipe setup. My question to you is: What is your recommendation on brand i.e. BBKs, SLPs, UPR, Hooker etc...and why. I'm budgeting abour $1300 for a set of LTs and mid-pipe. I am also considering replacing my Borlas that came stock on my S281. I plan on keeping cats so Off-Road setups are out of the question. Thanks for the input.

Kooks Headers would probably give you best gains and last the longest... but there kinda pricey.. SLP all your doing is paying for the name there the same quality as BBK or MAC

I have the SLP longtubes and Catted X pipe and love it w/ my Borla Stingers. I suggest SLP all the way. Great fit, great quality.

Dont get SLP for headers becuase, like rb said, you're just paying for the name. I have hooker headers and i love them. Ive had previous experience with them though so thats why i got them. They're inexpensive and they've been around forever. Never had any problems with them

Now those are some great responses. I'm glad to hear that SLPs aren't all that compared to others. I was getting ready to dump $800 on the LTs alone. Do you guys think the LTs would be a good choice or should I stick with Shorties? I run the stock Saleen Series II blower and plan on a pully upgrade in the next few months. I would like to get the most out of my dollars and hate to pay for name alone. I'll have to look into the hookers...that sounds (no pun intended) like a winner. Thanks.

get the long tubes and get electric cutouts and get something that will sit on top of that so you can run open heads down the road but, if your state requires it, you can still pass inspection without swapping anything out

thats what i am doing next summer cuz right now i have to save my money for spain when i study abroad

When you install long tube headers with an un-catted x pipe does it make the exhaust alot louder?? Im looking into magnaflow catback systems and was wondering if i should get there x pipe to go with it, or look into other brands of x pipes. So i guess what im asking does most x pipes sound the same, but your just paying for the name, or would the magnaflow exhausts be better than the rest.
