New Steering Wheel...
Being old, and not giving a rat's hind-side about having an exploding steering wheel, I installed a MOMO hub and Grant #714 wheel into my '03 GT today...
If anyone is interested, you can use two 4.7 Ohm resistors in parallel (providing a 2.35 Ohm load) to trick the air bag computer into thinking that the air bag squib, and therefore the air bag itself, are still in place and doing its thing to preserve our culture and way of life...
That's a MOMO 4525 hub adapter (modified with an added5-screw 2.85" bolt-circle--the flash made the casting look brown, it doesn't in daylight); had to lose the monstrous OEM clock spring as there's no way it would fit under the adapter. The cover plate under the adapter is the bottom of a 6" round cake pan from Walmart, cut to leave a 1/4" return and massaged to create the flat at the bottom, with a Krylon "krinkle" paint finish.
The wheel is left over from my Miata days, that's a Team VooDoo logo on the horn button--BTW I have no horn or cruise control functions at this time, got several schemes in mind but I thought I'd let 'em stew for a while and see what looks like the best solution. I think I may seek out a more contemporary looking wheel, as I'm not sure the mahogany looks right in a Mustang...

RE: New Steering Wheel...
The FR500 is basically the same thing I took off and tossed in the trash--my main goal was to get rid of the exploding steering wheel...

I don't think it goes with the interior at all.

RE: New Steering Wheel...
Is there a rooster on the steering wheel? Doesn't go with a sports car at all.... looks like something that should be in a bentley.... not really in a good way. The steering wheel isn't bad for a car like that with matching wood interior etc, but looks really out of place in the mustang.
Also did you check how much current runs through there? If you just got two 4.7 ohm resistors from radio shack odds are that thing is going to draw a ****load of current and burn the resistors.
Even at 5 volts 2.3 ohms its going to draw over 2amps which requiresatleasttwo 5watt resistors.
