Default Weight Reduction

I know there must be a million threads on it, that's probably why it came up impossible when I searched for it. Please anyone know any weight reduction for the track and possibly for daily drivers?

For starters I know:
Daily Driver:
-Spare + jack Removal

Track:
-Daily Driver weight removal
-Passenger seats
-Rear Seats

Costly Weight Reduction:
-Aluminum Driveshaft
-Aluminum Flywheel
-Racing Seats (not doing b/c the mach's are too nice)
-k-member

Thanks for any help ahead of time!

i think the A/C is 60lbs if you want to go that extreme.

also, taking out the sound deadening material will free up a considerable amount

other than drive-shaft and flywheel, everything else is virtually pointless and will just make your car look bad (or uncomfortable)

Track vs. DD is95% based on what creature comforts you can do without: heres a list of stuff off the top of my head.

Front rear bumper supports/foam (track only)
ABS system, if so equipped
A/C pump, condessor, humidifier and stuff behind dash
Lighter battery (dynabat) and relocation
Washer resevior removal
EGR removal
K-member
Lighter wheels
Radio/Amps/Speakers
50%-80% of crap behind dash (if you dont want HVAC)
SRS system
Metal Plate under steering wheel
Heater Core
Lighter/manual Seats
Carpet
Sound deadening behind firewall/floor (neat trick with dry ice)
Rear Seats
Carbon canister
Interior trim (center console, rear trim etc)
Spare/jack etc etc

List goes on...what ever you can do without or not need

dont listen to him...he knows nothing about driving... hes just a yankee i keed i keed

lightweight parts are not 100% ideal for a drag car tho.... more for road racing.

to the OP: one of the best weight reductions is slicks n skinnies on some LIGHT weight wheels. u would be supprised how much rotating mass ur wheels have. theres also the above mentioned tire, jack, passenger seat etc. u can also have a tubular front bumper made, that saves a consideral amount of weight. k member swap, and a/c.

ponysnake99 pretty much sumed it up. also window, alot of the race cars use plastic windows(its a special type of plastic though) i know glass on all the windows weighs a few pounds.

I disagree. Light weight wheels will not only help with 1/4 mile times but will put less stress on the axles and IMO look badazz, what about a light weight hood, smaller battery (dynabatt, etc), tubular k member, aluminum block, I guess all those make the car look bad as well?
