Well its on. I'm sad to be leaving the mod motor world, but it's time to move on. I had a blast with you guys and racing this car.
I'll be parting out the current motor, fuel system, N20 system, tuning items and tranny. It will be replaced with a big carb'd 351W based stroker, most likely a 408. The tranny will be replaced with a built C4 to keep streetability in check. The car will be driven on the street and to the track.
I've already picked up a block and stock crank. When some of the mod motor stuff sells, hopefully in a couple weeks, I'll buy the rest of the internals and send the block to the machine shop. The plan after that is to buy some bare heads and the titanium valves and retainers and other stuff that's way too expensive and
I'm just gonna use this thread to keep tabs on the whole buildup with pics and updates. Thanks for reading.

How do you plan on keeping the car registered, though? I was going to do a 408w swap in mine, but I was pretty sure you can't put an older motor in a car that's newer. Unless you're state is different, but I'm positive in CT the motor has to be at least the same year or newer that the car is.
sweet keep us updated...i just ripped my 460 BBF down to the bare block today to put new rings and bearings in it...im ditching this ****ty 2v motor!!!!

Every single part of the entire build will be new aside from the block. How is that an older engine? It's a newer engine. We have no emissions, so the car will never be seen by the state or whoever.

This is a joke, right?
I'm sorry buddy. I'm not good enough or rich enough of a racer to make this thing go fast with a mod motor. I know it's more than possible, but I just want a 10sec 550rwhp N/A. That's all.

I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, but orriented towards road racing, I think a 408W would have crazy freaking pull in a 2900lb car, so hey, maybe one day I'll join you in switching power plans.
THe only reason I didn't do it is because my engine was already completely built when I bought it, so ditching it didn't make much sense
