places to install 4.10 gears in Central Jersey
Want to get a set of FRPP 4.10 gears for the 98 gt. I feel like it may make the car seem fast.
Anyone have 4.10 gears installed in New Jersey by a shop they were pleased with?? I want a reputable shop that does everything correct. How much including the price of gears, installation, oil set me back? I do all my own work but will not mess with gears.
Also i have been thinking about getting a RAI or CAI bit is it really worth it? And is it a must to tune after? I do not have a tuner.

for an intake, i would get a cheap one.. they all net you just a few hp... IMO, either get a cheap CAI, or just drop in a K&N air filter and remove the silencer... better throttle response and you can hear some air being sucked in. you do not need a tune after a CAI...
as for gears, i dont have them but i do plan on getting some. they will wake up your car a TON from what everybody says...

About an hour from atco. I used to ride moto there at night all the time, but Raceway is closer to me, and then i sold them.
I have a k&N cone filter in the stock setup, never thought about removing the silencer, wouldn't that suck hot air from the engine bay.
Can't wait for 4.10's, I also hear everyone ranting about them.

i dont imagine how it would suck hot air in from the engine.. a cold air intake doesnt have a silencer... it just allows you to hear the air flowing through more(if the silencer is removed) or something
dont quote me on any of this.. i learn from everyone else haha

I do about 50/50 with highway and city driving. 3.73's are probably the better bet but everyone is going 4.10's these days. My car has about 90,000 on it now. Should i buy the rear end gear rebuild kit? OR just the gears? What weight gear oil should i use and what friction modifier? I want to purchase all the parts before and just let the installer do it. And one last question: Are the GEARS really going to put a smile on my face???
