If you can do them yourself, its worth the money to buy them, if you have to have them installed might not be worth it, i love the sound that mine make. even with stock mufflers, i want to upgrade to hooker maxflows soon

LTs are the best power mod u can do short of heads/cams and blower. Everything for these cars are expensive, if you look at 1 bolt on by its self of course its not going to be worth it. you have to realize that thats pretty much all u get out of these cars is mediocre power with bolt ons.

I have heard of people getting 15+ RWP after Lt's. I plan on getting some but they will probably be the only mod I take to the shop to be installed because of all the nightmare installation stories I heard about.

long tube headers to me are worth it. trust me you say you just want to do mid-pipe, 4.10 gears.....etc i thought that too but once you start doing more and more stuff the more you will want. honestly if you wanna see the best bang for you buck i would install the 4.10 gears first, you will notice a big difference in your car with those. thats just my .02 cents

This could not be more wrong.... I have done before and after dyno results, i picked up 10rwhp from my headers... The most you could possibly pick up is 20rwhp and that is going with the edelbrock longtubes.... A tune or midpipe even a decent cold air would be worth about as much as longtubes sometimes maybe a bit more.. But like you said its all about pieces of the puzzle and getting everything you need on the car....

MIdpipe, cold air, tune, puts you at 250 260rwhp... long tubes add around 10 to 15rwhp to that... That puts your 105 106mph trap speeds and low 13ss high 12s depending on gearing and tires...

but yeah, do a good set of cams, that puts your 20 to 30rwhp, and 108 to 110ish traps..

thats about all you can expect from these cars really, obviously im sure some people have better lucky, some people have worse luck, but thats what i feel is the norm.

ported heads are a waste with stock shortblock because they drop compression, and i would rather have the extra compression than the extra flow... thats why you see ported heads, cam cars barely over 300, while some are doing that cam only, i feel that the heads just end up being a wash.
