Smile What to expect from Sniper tuner?

I've recently come into a little money and am going to invest in a Sniper Tuner and one other toy... I'm trying to decide whether I want a o/r mid pipe or a bigger t/b. Which do you guys think will show the biggest improvement?

Its a 2002 GT (auto w/ j-mod). Not really anything else done to it.

IMHO, sniper is the way to go if you like tuning your own vehical and easy to use. i have the specia forces and the delta forces. go o/r h pipe.

I would definitely go with the OR pipe over a TB for starters. The sniper will be perfect for disabling the rear O2 sensors after installing the midpipe. Midpipe will gain you a little power up high but, at least in my experience, a loss of low end power. Great sound though. Sniper is a great tool and easy to use. Just remember to leave the air and fuel settings alone unless you have a broadband meter anda ll of that. With the sniper you are basically going to be able to recalibrate for gears, shift points on the auto, disable O2s and of course bump timing, which is where you are going to pick up a little more power.

02dkbluegt: just sent you a PM, i have the Special Forces tuner that i'm looking to sell. when i had all the work done on my car last year, the shop that dyno tuned it used their own software so i no longer have a need for the Sniper tuner. let me know if you're interested.

What can you expect from Sniper? Knowledge.. thats the best thing it gave me. Dont go in expecting 20-30hp out of it, what you will get is some (if nothing else) basic understanding of how tuners do their job. If you dig a little deeper into it youll learn the tasks that the computer does to make your car run, and how your inputs affect those tasks.

i agree with hoss on the knowledge part. when i bought my mustang a year and a half ago, i knew very little about it (been a GM fan and a big diesel craver). i found i couple good forums and started reading, hints the low post numbers, rather read about the things i dont know then post the ones i do know. i beleive the more you know about the car, the more you can successfully make modifications and the more you can enjoy it.

How much are you going to be selling the tuning kit for?
