Default wheel/ tire question

i have 17x9 bullits anyone know if 245 45 17s will work with them or do i have to get the recommended 275 40 17 im only asking becuase i already have 3 good 245 45 17s

They will work, they will be stretched, but they will work. I wouldnt suggest it and i wouldnt like the look of the tires being stretched that far but i can see your situation and how it would be advantageous to just use the 245's.

yeah kinda what i figured basically i want the rims on my car.. but not if it comes with the cost of a blowout or looking real stupid

Will work as said above... but i wouldnt suggest it, see if u can get some cheap tires off CL or at a j-yard or something!? Then sell your 245's

It honestly wont risk a blowout. They are recommended to be within the range of wheel width for 7.5-9" wide wheels. So they will work fine on your car, but they wont protect your wheels in the instance of hitting a curb or anything. They should work fine for you, and the tight sidewall will actually improve handling slightly because it wont flex as much as a more bulging sidewall would, if i understand correctly.

i know theres people that shoot for that stretched tire look and it works fine for them. i think it would work fine for your purposes too
