Also understand im doing a 5.4 for the fun factor of saying I have a 5.4... its not all about end result numbers. But the extra torque that im going to get from it will be worth the 200 bucks or so it costs for a shortblock.

I posted an add for a 5.4 shortblock. I imagine ill have one within a few weeks for sure now.

Gotcha gotcha. Maybe you should try to find a 3v 5.4 in a junk yard and use that as a starting point!

Any thoughts toward my suggestion of starting with a 3v headed 5.4?

Eh, im not wanting to really deal with the stuff that comes along with the 3v to be honest.

I think the 2v 5.4 with stage 1 turbo cams and mildly ported heads will be decent. I think the stock PI intake is whats going to be key in keeping my powerband right where I need it.
