i have a 2009 cobalt ss with full bolt ons and tuned but i blew the seals in the turbo so im looking to get rid of it and come back to the mustangs. the only problem is im looking to get around the same quater mile time as mycobalt but the only way i see that happening is h/c and nitrous. my buddy has a 150 shot and dyno tuned on his 96 mustang gt and i still pull cars on him. im wondering if i should just wait and save up for a mach 1 or a 01 cobra for the 4v or is their something im missing with the 2v's to make them get in the 12s
thanks,

Well a 96gt with stock heads on it is super slow. the 99-04 gt's are much much better cars then the 96-98gt. Some people are getting better numbers out of F/I with the 2v then they are with the 4v. Its just in what you want to do and what you want to spend to get there.

You should be able to find a decent 99 or 01 Cobra for around 10-11 K. I've seen some in my area for that price.
But you can easily find a 99-04 GT for around 6-8K, low mileage and stock. Slap on a s/c and run 12's all day easily.

ALL HAIL THE 2V. Alright man, how fast ya wanna go? If you are wanting mid 12's with a stock motor, it can be done. I FULLY BELIEVE, I could build a scary fast, stock longblock, bolt on 2V with what I know now from what I have learned back then. Does that make sense?? LOL

Pretty sure he wants to be deep into the 12's, not just barely skimming them (no offense)
OP, I'll sell you my car for 10.5 Built engine, everything you need to run faster than 12's.
